Classic French-girl vibes are pretty much the epitome of style and sophistication, and although I’ve strived to perfect the look in the past – I’m the first to admit that I’ve missed the mark on more than one occasion.

Today’s outfit though is an exception! A classic pairing of trench, stripes, and beret are the perfect equation for success when it comes to putting together this effortlessly chic look. I’ve also added my own twist by pairing unexpected textures such as these wool culottes and straw clutch, that seamlessly complete the look.

PETITE FIT NOTES:
– The tee I’m wearing by Frank & Oak is XS but fits quite large, including the sleeves which are exceptionally long. If I was going to keep wearing this top I would definitely have the sleeves shortened. But to just make things easier, I found a nearly identical version in Petite here.
– The trench coat from Banana Republic is XXS Petite and fits TTS. I’m 4’11” for reference and BR XXS Petite blazers and coats fit me quite well.
– These Leith culottes from Nordstrom are XS and the waist originally fit very large, although the length was fine. I had the elastic waist taken in by a seamstress to give it that fitted, high-waist look.
– The grey pointy-toe oxfords are from Pretty Small Shoes which is my #1 destination for all petite shoes Size 5 and under. I wear a Size 4US shoe and am constantly impressed with the vast selection of on-trend styles they offer.
