It is with a heavy heart that I sit down to write today’s blog post. I have my coffee in hand, the sun is shining – and yet I can’t help but hold back a tear or two as I am about to share some important news.

For the almost three years that I have been writing The Minted Mama I have had the privilege of sharing my sense of style, love for travel, and small snippets of family life with all of you wonderful people. And as those of you who have been following me for quite some time will know, this blog was never a very personal, candid, or open conversation about my life. But today I feel that I need to get a little more personal and share why this will be my last post on The Minted Mama (for a while at least).

It has been a culmination of various factors that ultimately led to this decision, and while I am sad to be closing this chapter of my life – I am very happy to finally carve out some time to recalibrate, refocus, and recharge.

I know most people start making plans and goals in advance of the new year, but the end of 2017 crept up way too quickly and I just did not have time to sit down and figure out what direction I wanted to take my brand in 2018. In fact (and to be truly honest), I was beginning to feel a bit uninspired about my blog and Instagram (the new algorithm certainly played a factor here), so even though 2017 was my best year yet (thanks to all of you), I knew that certain things needed to change.

Please don’t misinterpret what I’m saying here. My lack of inspiration and the Instagram algorithm are not the primary reasons why I’m putting The Minted Mama on hold. While I wasn’t sure how to evolve my brand and which direction to grow, I was absolutely certain that beginning in 2018 I wanted to make sure that some personal aspects of my life were getting my full attention.

Some of my goals are to be more present, be a better mother, a better friend, eat better, exercise more often, and use my energy to help others. Don’t get me wrong – I don’t think I was failing entirely on all of these points, but I do want to improve at them. And after much back and forth, I have finally decided that what I truly need is the time to be able to focus on them exclusively.

So instead of just taking a few weeks to refocus and reorganize, I have decided that stepping away from the blog entirely will allow me to get clarity on how and if I will move forward with it in the future. I’m not shutting down any of my social accounts or taking down my website, but they will remain as is with no further updates or posts for the time being.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support over the past few years – for your ‘likes’, comments, and enthusiasm for the content I created, and to the many brands who took a chance working with me and allowing me to experience so many exciting opportunities – I will always be truly grateful! Until next time…

xoxo
