Now that it’s February, I can’t help but have Spring on the brain. Not that the weather is any indication of warmer weather ahead, but longer days, Canada’s groundhog predictions, and all the floralΒ stylesΒ in stores have me anxiously awaiting my favorite season on the year.

Today’s style post is a perfect reflection of the way I’ve been feeling these days. While the need to stay warm in cozy sweaters is still ever present, transitional dressing is definitely at the forefront of my mind as I look for new ways to incorporate a little Spring in my step.

The slip dress trend was not one I jumped on right away and as you can see it’s taken me quite a while to warm up to the look. However, when I tried on this stretch-silk version from Kit And Ace, it was love at first sight. I was kindly invited into the Oakville shop a few weeks ago for a Fit & Design session, and was blown away by the luxurious fabrics and supple textures that make upΒ each piece of their clothing. I tried on so many beautiful pieces like this brushed turtleneck dress, structured V-neck top, and the uber-gorgeous Burbank ShawlΒ that I seriously didn’t want to take off (goinf back to get this ASAP)!

What I love about the pieces I selected is that they’re washable, beyond comfortable (a must-have for busy mama’s), and will easily work with a variety of other pieces in my closet. The Technical Cashmere turtleneck under the silk slip dress is great for this time of year (and oh-so soft), but once the warmer weather rolls around I’ll be swapping it out for a denim jacket or wearing the dress solo.

For now though, I’m staying warm as best I can and hope you are too! What’s your favorite transitional look as we head into Spring?
