Revealing my home on the blog is such a huge accomplishment not only because I get to share our family’s home with you, but because I get to look back at the photos and remember how clean and organized it was for all of 5 minutes! Living with kids makes keeping a room in pristine condition nearly impossible, and for a type-A personality, being able to look back at pretty pictures really helps to keep my sanity.

We recently completed the major project of transforming our Master Bedroom and Ensuite into a beautiful retreat from kids, toys and clutter (most of the time). This week I am happy to share our Master Ensuite with you and next week I will be revealing the Master Bedroom.

When we moved into our current home the Master Bathroom was basic, boring and lacked charm and personality, so a small renovation was definitely in order. Always a fan of clean white bathrooms, we chose a marble-look porcelain tile (Polaris Collection) from Sarana Tile that set the stage for this classic and sophisticated design. We replaced all the floor and shower tiles, and brought the 18″x36″ tile up the walls, capping them with Bianco Carrera pencils. I love how the wall tile just adds an extra dose of elegance. We also replaced a builder-standard built-in tub with a sleek and clean-lined freestanding version. And for a relatively small bathroom, the extra floor space this added was remarkable and really opened up the space.

After the renovations it was on to decorating (my favorite part)! We went with white drapes (to up the elegance factor), bold lighting, and pretty details such as these luxurious towels from Pamuk & Co. which by the way – are absolutely divine!

There aren’t very many bare walls to decorate, but we chose a serene, limited edition art print from MINTED that picked up the Rhinestone wall paint perfectly and set the mood for the space.  MINTED is an amazing source for discovering independent designers from all over the world and for finding the perfect piece for your home. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I’m so happy with our selection. Be sure to use promo code SHIPFREE for free shipping on your next order until the end of August.

We also chose to hang some decorative mirrors above the toilet in order to open up the small space and bring extra light into this nook. And nothing makes a bathroom more inviting than sumptuous apothecary products like this collection from Pure Home Couture. The fresh scent of Lemon Verbena takes me back to our first wedding anniversary on the Isle of Capri, and is the perfect finishing touch to personalizing our master bathroom.

While I know that our bathroom won’t look like this forever (or even another 5 minutes), I’m so happy to have been able to share this beautiful space with you and I’ll be checking back on these images every time time I need a little peace and serenity. Stay tuned for next week’s Master Bedroom reveal that you don’t want to miss!
