Following closely on the heels of our Master Ensuite reveal last week, I’m so happy to finally share the shots of our completed Master Bedroom. The space turned out exactly how I had envisioned – pretty and soft, yet still masculine enough for my husband to feel comfortable in (any more blush would have been just a little too much)!

The room started off grey and white, and pretty much stayed that way for the last two years. I knew I wanted a muted and serene feel to the space, but it took a long time to decide on the blush pink. It’s certainly not an ingenious palette but selecting the right colour to accent a room is a big decision and takes time. The grey is our neutral anchor and the blush was thrown into the room by accents only, which is great for down the road if we decide to switch things up a bit.

Other than the bed and chandelier, all the large pieces moved with us from our last home, but in this new space they were given a fresh new look. The mirror side tables are great for opening up a space, the black French bergere chair is an eBay score we had reupholstered years ago, and the vintage dresser has been with us for a decade now and amazingly the paint colour continues to match everywhere we go. The ottoman at the foot of the bed actually has a black and cream trellis pattern fabric (which didn’t quite match the new look of the room), so until I get around to reupholstering it, we easily covered it with a few faux-fur rugs and voila! an instantly new piece.

When it came to adding fresh new decor items to the space, I went for a mix of bold and feminine. The pair of black and white prints from MINTED were exactly what I was looking for to flank our king-size bed. They are modern, fresh, and add a touch of boldness to our shared space. Then to add in the touch of blush pink, we had this custom abstract painting commissioned by Kichael Bonofiglio Fine Art which ties together the entire room’s colour palette. I can’t get enough of how perfect this piece really is! And then one more petite print from MINTED sits on the wall by the window just adding a little touch of whimsy and finishes off the space.

I love walking into a room and smelling a fresh, signature scent which makes you instantly feel comfortable and able to unwind. I brought the same fragrance of Lemon Verbena from Pure Home Couture that we have in the Ensuite, into the bedroom with a fragrant linen spray that I just can’t get enough of. It’s fresh, lemony scent is exactly what I want to smell when entering my little retreat. And a few candles also from Pure Home Couture are strategically placed throughout the room for a little ambiance and charm.

I hope you loved both our Ensuite and Master Bedroom reveal as much as we do, and I’m so happy to have been able to share it with everyone.
