What better way to start a new season then with a little beauty cabinet refresh! I’m typically a creature of habit when it comes to my beauty routine, but of course I still love trying out new products and restocking those tried and true favourites that never disappoint.

I recently discovered online Canadian beauty shop BeautySense.ca, and couldn’t have been more excited about the amazing roster of brands this Montreal-based company has to offer. G.M. COLLIN Sweet Gommage Smoothing Scrub

This is probably my favourite scrub of all time and is a tried-and-true favourite in my books. I’ve been a big fan of G.M. COLLIN products for a long time – not only because they are also a Canadian company with all of their products made in Montréal – but because they are high quality and produce results you can actually see! I love how gentle yet effective this sugar scrub is and I actually use it in the shower daily because it’s just that gentle. The sugar cane and papaya enzymes sloth away dead skin and leave your skin so silky smooth and hydrated – perfect for any time of the year. I have been finished numerous tubes of this exfoliant so take it from me – you NEED this in your skincare routine!

ORIBE Star Glow Styling Wax

This is a new one for me – but to say I love it would be an understatement! For the last couple of months I’ve been pulling my hair back into tight, middle-parted chignons because I love the sleek and chic look (especially now that my colour is back to normal – goodbye COVID roots), but the flyaways and damaged pieces around my face have been such a nuisance to control and tame. I used to layer on as much hairspray as possible – but that crunchy effect wasn’t exactly what I was going for – and when those flyaways broke free they were stiff and not attractive in the slightest. I’m loving the gel-wax formula of the ORIBE styling wax and how it produces a medium to firm hold, along with a glossy, high-shine finish. I like to secure my hair into a ponytail first, slick back the front and side pieces with the ORIBE wax, and then secure the back into a small chignon at the base of my neck. This has been my go-to style as of late and I couldn’t do it without this product.

AMIKA Perk Up Dry Shampoo

As a daily dry-shampoo user – I have been through my fair share of dry shampoos. They are definitely a mom-hack for reducing ready time in the mornings – but they are not all created equal. I’ve heard amazing reviews of this AMIKA product for years but hadn’t had an opportunity to try it out for myself until now. My thoughts after having used it for a few weeks now? LOVE! Not only does it smell absolutely amazing – it does not leave a residue, instantly freshens my hair to post-wash conditions – and the star ingredient Rice Starch adds volume and texture to my hair which is just what I need to start the day!

JANE IREDALE Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde

It is SO hard to find a Blonde brow pencil that you can actually see! I’ve tried one too many that thoroughly disappoint because they are just so light you can’t see them. But this JANE IREDALE retractable pencil is just what I’ve been looking for! I spend a significant amount of time on my eyebrows each morning, so having a reliable pencil to fill in the blanks is essential. I always start by brushing my brows into place with the spoolie end, and then use the precise pencil tip to fill and define. It’s also waterproof and lasts all day – so no need for on-the-go touch ups which just makes life so much simpler! This has instantly become part of my daily makeup regime.

NUXE PARIS Multi-Purpose Dry Oil for Face, Body, Hair

Last but not least, the NUXE PARIS golden, shimmering body oil is everything my end of summer beauty routine needs! I’m trying to extend the life of summer-kissed skin for as long as I possibly can, and this oil is just so silky and illuminating and also smells absolutely divine! I have yet to try it on my hair, but by body loves it and I’ve even used a bit on my cheekbones for that glowy, fresh-faced look. The best part is that it’s not greasy in the slightest so you enjoy that nourishing illumination without feeling weighed down or oily – no wonder it’s a cult-fave and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally try it out. Definitely a beauty-cabinet staple!
